EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S NEWSLETTER

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new."
                                                    2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV
)

Well it's almost time for Shiloh summer camp!!!  Just a few more weeks of school and summertime will be here before you know it.

We're making all the final plans, preparing the cabins and getting ready to mobilize to Long Point Park again.  We had such a fun time down there we're going back again.  Hoping you're planning on join us too.

NEW For 2009!  Dan Quattrocchi, who led our Sunday kick-off worship sessions last year, is stepping up as our new Camp Director.  Let's welcome Dan, his wife Amy and little ones Roman, Ava and Zach to the Shiloh Family.  They're going to bring a lot of spirit and compassion to the camp.  Things are only going to get even better as the ole' crew including Mark Bryant (aka, Senor Simon Dice), several of last year's staff, some new staff, and your's truly look forward to the fun and fellowship of Shiloh.

The theme for Shiloh summer camp 2009 is "A New Identity," based on the verse

from Paul's second letter to the church at Corinth.  This going to make a cool T-shirt design!!!

Do you remember when God created the heavens and the earth?  (Well I don't either - not quite that old!)  But, think about the awesomeness of making something completely new.  That's what happens to us when we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD.  We've become a NEW CREATION!  Gone are the old self and it's baggage - gone, forgiven and forgotten.  We have a new identity in Christ.  And each day, a Christian is continually transformed into the image of Christ day by day.  Isn't it glorious that the Father sees us as His sons and daughters?  Wow.  I know I've had an earthly father, but I'm the son of God.  Very cool - try using that at school to impress your friends.

Well that's a little bit about some of the teachings we'll be discussing at camp.  Dan is putting the final touches on the curricullum and Mark is organizing the fun activities for the program.  It's going to be great!!!

All we need is you!  And, BTW - you can bring some of your friends.  Why keep such a good thing a secret!?!?

Hope to see you at camp soon.

Yours in Christ,
Lou Larsen,
Executive Director
