We are looking for Summer Staff age 16 to 25 to serve with us who...

How can I get an application?

is reviewed.  Please note that we will also run a background check on all Staff.

What are the dates for Summer 2012?
Training week this summer is from June 4th - June 8th and is mandatory for all staff
(new or returning).  Camp runs for 5 weeks starting June 10th and ending July 13th.
Camp tear down is Saturday July 14th.

How many weeks do I serve?
We are looking for Junior Staff (age 16 - 18) to serve at least 2 consecutive weeks
minimum along with training week.  We prefer Senior Staff (age 19 - 25) to serve for
5 consecutive weeks along with training week.

Do we get time off?
Yes, Staff can leave on Friday nights after camp is secured (typically around 8PM) and
are off Saturday's and do not report back to camp till 2PM on Sundays.

Do Staff get paid?

Senior Counselors, Videographer and Kitchen assistant get paid per week including
training week.  Lifeguard position also gets paid per week (must be certified) and
Junior Staff are volunteer positions.

What expenses are covered?
All lodging, Meals, Staff T-shirts, Costs to get into excursions will be covered.

How do I get to camp?
Staff are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp at Long
Point Park.

Where do I stay on the weekends if I am from out of town?
Out of town Staff typically make arrangements with other local Staff to stay with
them over the weekends.

Mission Support for Staff
We treat camp as our local mission and we ask all Staff to help offset some of the
costs by raising personal mission support.  Junior Staff are required to raise a
minimum of $250 and Senior Staff are required to raise a minimum of $500.

Below are our 2012 Summer Staff Positions:

SENIOR COUNSELOR: (Age 19 - 25)
You are a teacher, coach, mentor and friend who will invest in the lives of kids
6 days a week, 24 hours a day. 

JUNIOR COUNSELOR: (Age 16 -18)
This is a “Staff in Training” position where you learn how to work hard and do
ministry with kids first hand.

KITCHEN CREW: (Boys Age 16 - 18)
You will be working closely with the Camp Cook to help serve food, keep the kitchen
organized and clean, stock food, make sure drinks are available.

MAINTENANCE CREW: (Boys Age 16 - 18)
You will be working closely with the Maintenance Lead to make sure everything
at camp is working right.  You will also help with setup and tear down of most
waterfront activities as well as field games..etc.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHER: (Boy/Girl Age 16 - 25)
You will capture the memories that last a lifetime.  You will be uploading pictures
frequently to our website/facebook pages as well as making short video montages
for the end of each week.  This position requires a great deal of creativity and a
knowledge of Adobe Suite/Final Cut Pro...etc.  If interested, please list separately
your experience with video and/or photo.

REGISTRAR’S ASSISTANT: (Girl Age 16 - 18) 
This position will be working directly with our Camp Registrar/Bookkeeper. 
Duties include: Organizing forms, support registrar while she does bookkeeping
duties, helping with camp store, and other office related tasks.

KITCHEN ASSISTANT: (Girl Age 19 - 25) 
This position will be working directly with our Camp Cook.  She will assist with
all three meals per day.  Looking for someone who knows how to get around in a
kitchen and has some food prep skills.

NURSE ASSISTANT: (Girl Age 16 - 18) 
This position will be working directly with our Camp Nurse.  She will assist with
camper food allergies , organizing medical forms, helping administer bandages
and other duties.  Should be first aid certified.

LIFEGUARD: (Age 16 - 25) 
This is an additional duty to a SENIOR or JUNIOR COUNSELOR position.  You will help
lifeguard at all waterfront activities including boating days, canoe trips, lagoon...etc.

WORSHIP TEAM: (Age 16 - 25) 
This is an additional duty to a SENIOR or JUNIOR COUNSELOR position.  You will help
lead the campers in worship for all evening services during the week.  Please note if
you sing or play an instrument and if you have had any worship leading experience
in the past.

VOLUNTEER / HELPER OPPORTUNITIES

Camp Nurse
We are in need of camp nurses that can stay on site for a week at a time (or longer if
you can) to administer medications, coordinate with cook for food allergies, help with
normal bumps and scraps...etc.
  This will be a paid position at $100/week or a free
week for your child to go to camp.
Need Nurses for weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5 right now.

Camp Setup Helpers
Tasks include leveling cabins, sewer hookup, power hookup, intercom hookup...etc
Looking for Handymen/ Craftsmen/ Electricians.
June 4th to June 8th at Long Point Park

Opening Day Helpers
We could use help with parking parents, directing them to registration, helping parents
with camper bags, meet and greet parents and campers, Lice check help...etc.
Sunday June 10, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8 from 3PM to 6PM at Long Point Park.        


Closing Ceremony Helpers
Parking parents, Helping with check-out.
Friday June 15, June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13 from 5PM to 7PM at Long Point Park


Cabin Cleaning
We could use some men or women that can help clean cabins during camp setup,
each Friday night when camp ends and for camp tear down.
Camp Setup June 4th and 5th & each Friday June 15, June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13
at 7PM & Camp tear down on Saturday July 14th.

Drivers with 3/4 - 1 ton trucks!!!!
We haul our bunkhouses/cabins from Teen Missions in North Merritt Island down to
Long Point Park and then haul them back when camp is over.
Haul Down on Saturday June 3rd and Sunday June 4th.  Haul back on Saturday 14th.

Catamaran Sailors with/without boat and Motor Boat Sailors with boat
Looking for men who know how to sail and/or have a ski boat they can bring to camp.
Days and times will be provided when Camp Schedule is finished.

Fishing Helpers
Looking for men who can help bait and setup rods, and help kids fish.
Days and times will be provided when Camp Schedule is finished.

Runners / Shoppers / Picker-Uppers

Preferably people who live near camp and who can be somewhat "on call" or a few
hours notice to make runs for ice, groceries, and whatever little things we might
need at Walmart or Lowes...etc.
Available Sundays to Fridays during the 5 weeks of camp June 10th to July 13th
or any block of time you are available.

**NOTE** All volunteers will need acceptable background check
